Holy Saturday 2011

Something strange is happening -- there is a great silence on earth today, a great silence and stillness. The whole earth keeps silence because the King is asleep. The earth trembled and is still because God has fallen asleep in the flesh and he has raised up all who have slept ever since the world began. God has died in the flesh and hell trembles with fear.

Hello Roxaline,

I came across your blog thru the comment you wrote at Domestic Felicity. I was shocked to hear the recommendation to delay breastfeeding for the purpose of vaccinations. God designed the breastfeeding relationship to be a protection against infection for the infant!

I noticed that you are Catholic. During college my daughter was confirmed in the Catholic Church. We have had many interesting discussions. I especially appreciate the way that the Catholic Church defends life.

Hi Carol,

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Yes I was shocked when I read the article as well. My sister was the one who emailed it to me. I, personally, feel it is another way that formula companies are trying to make money. I feel there had been a turn towards breastfeeding (at the detriment to the formula companies) and this is trying to make the pendulum swing back the other way. You and I both know that delaying breastfeeding would make it more difficult to start (if you could at all). They hope that women are stupid enough to not think it through before delaying something so important. I will try to post a link to the article so you can read it for yourself.

I converted to the Catholic faith in college as well. My mother still has a problem with it at times, but overall she is very supportive and understanding. The Catholic Church has such a rich history and that is one of the reasons I fell in love with it. I saw that you have a book out and I have added it to my wish list for hubby! Thanks again for stopping by!
