7 years old!

Seven years ago today I gave birth to my first born daughter! She weighed a whopping 5 pounds 12 ounces and was 19 inches long! (I was hoping she weighed more especially since I gained 40 pounds!) She has always been a very happy baby & child. She is opinionated and very logical. She is one of the most empathetic children I know and is always concerned about others feelings. She is very bright and loves to read, especially about the human body. She asks lots of questions and is very inquisitive! She has never met a stranger and loves to be around people. She loves to be the center of attention and is not afraid to be on stage or speak to people. She is the apple of every ones eye & we love her VERY MUCH! Happy 7th Birthday Brianna Marie!

More Pictures!

Here are some more pictures of Victoria. These were taken today. I wanted to get her sitting up since she is doing SO WELL at it!

6 months!

Victoria is six months old today! I can't believe how fast the time has gone. It seems like only yesterday that I found out we were expecting this little miracle. (I wish pregnancy would go by as fast!) I will post more pictures of her today after she wakes up from her nap and I take more. This one was taken last week so she was ALMOST six months! She is such a little charmer and know when to smile and coo to get the biggest effect. She is still VERY opinionated (hmmm I wonder where she gets that from) and wants what she wants when she wants it! However, she has EVERYBODY in the house completely in love with her (especially her 19 year old brother!) I can't imagine what our life would be like without her (it would probably involve more sleep but that's about it)!
Happy 6 month Birthday Victoria!

Quick Question

I only have a few moments (all the girls are in the bath and I am hoping that there are no tears, fights, or near drownings) to write this post. I have a quick question? Who handles the finances in your household? I have read many different opinions answers to this question. Some say that the husband should handle all finances since he is the "head" of the household and more then likely is the main breadwinner. Others say that because the women is the one who is shopping and taking care of the house that she should handle finances. And then there is the "whoever is more inclined" to this type of work. What do you say? How do you handle finances in your house? Do you fall into one of the categories above or do you have a different way that works for you? I am eagerly waiting your comments!

My new FAVORITE place!

Since downsizing back in March, I have been looking for various ways to save money. This included not eating out as much, finding FREE things to do on the weekends, renting a movie from redbox instead of going to the movies, etc, etc. I had started shopping at Walmart to try to keep our grocery bill down especially now that it is summer and we have another mouth to feed (a BIG 19 year old boy mouth!) However, I HATE Walmart. I don't even think HATE is a strong enough word. Every time I go into Walmart I am reminded (numerous times) as to why I don't like shopping there. Yet, I continued to bite the bullet in the name of cheaper prices. UNTIL NOW!!!!! My new FAVORITE grocery store is........

Thanks to Debi's post I started to look deeper into what is Aldi. I have passed this store a number of times in the past, but never thought much about it. Since looking into what was so special about this store I decided to give it a try. So this morning I set out with three kids in tow to see if I could save money. Let me tell you I was more then pleasantly surprised. Everything in the store was either the same price as Walmart or CHEAPER! Milk - $2.99! Eggs - $1.09! Coffee - $3.99! English Muffins - $.99! WOW!
I am hooked! While there were some things I couldn't get (Victoria is wearing size 2 diapers and the smallest they carry is size 3) and the Jiffy pizza crust that the family LOVES! I can always send hubby to the Walmart down the street to get those! Overall, it saved me MUCH time, money, & sanity which in this family is a BIG deal!
